Reporting done as part of a three month investigation into a dam constructed on the Bayou Des Arc by the man who owns one of the U.S.'s top land brokerage firms in an area known for its duck hunting. The investigation found that the dam was built without any of the proper permits from the U.S. Corps of Engineers or the Division of Environmental Quality, and that the landowner claimed that the structure was "existing" despite aerial imagery appearing to show otherwise. A nearby property owner said that the original structure had been blown up decades ago by discontent neighbors after a previous owner had done the exact same thing. The federal government's investigation into the structure stretched was sluggish, making requests of state officials to take them up the Bayou to the dam and then never following through,  while local officials spoke of pressure from the Corps to do something about the structure before being pushed out of the process entirely.  It was eventually referred to the EPA for enforcement action, and the agency refused to disclose the status the proceedings.

One of 16 stories I wrote in 2024 about Arkansas' nascent lithium industry and the battle over what royalty companies eyeing business in the state should pay to extract the mineral. This one details the numerous objections to a proposal filed by five companies -- which was ultimately shot down by the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission in November -- by large businesses and individual mineral rights owners alike.

Reporting done as part of an eight month investigation into the Little Rock Citizen's Review Board, which was created in 2019 following the shooting death of Bradley Blackshire at the hands of LRPD officer Charles Starks. The investigation found that not only did the city or police not inform potential users of the board of the option to request a review, but they also did not do the bare minimum of promoting the board, such as creating a website for it. As a result, those interviewed for the article who had previously made complaints about officer conduct were almost completely unaware of the CRB's existence. As a result of this reporting, Little Rock's mayor said it was changing the way it handled the reception of citizen complaints.

Covered efforts by largely rural counties to pass noise regulations before Act 851, which limited localities' ability to regulate often-noisy cryptocurrency mines and was passed with near-unanimous support with no debate in the Arkansas legislature, went into effect.

An investigation and analysis of election complaints filed against so-called independent candidates for executive positions in student government by myself, my assistant editor and our editor-in-chief found that all of the complaints -- many of which were for offenses not listed in any of the rules governing campus elections -- were filed by Greek affiliated students. One of the affected candidates claimed it was the work of the Machine, a shadowy group with a long history on campus that has historically worked for the interests of UA's Greek houses.
